AmazonBasics AU2435XA 24-Sheet Paper and Credit Card Shredder Review

The AmazonBasics AU2435XA paper shredder is an excellent addition to your office and home. It can shred large amounts of papers at a time and is very easy to use. In this review, we will discuss the best features of this product to help you decide if it has a place in your work area. You can find comparisons of similar paper shredders here.

Powerful Machine

With a strong motor and blades, this shredder from AmazonBasics can shred up to 24 sheets of paper at a time, which a lot of shredders that are similar cannot do. This enables you to do more shredding in half the time. It also has an LED light that tells you when the system is overheated or overloaded to prevent any damage.

It is also capable of shredding materials such as DVDs and credit cards as long as you insert them one at a time. There are some machines out there that are not strong enough to shred these types of objects, so it will be beneficial when you need to discard confidential information or get rid of CDs and DVDs that you don’t use.

It can also run continuously for 25 minutes before needing a cooldown time. That is very impressive considering that there are many shredders in this price range that cannot work for this long. The only downside to this is that the cooldown time will be longer, needing 60 minutes to be cooled down enough to start again.

Simple to Operate

AmazonBasics AU2435XAThe AmazonBasics AU2435XA paper shredder is very simple to use. You won’t have to worry about paper jams since there is an auto-reverse function that automatically sends the paper back when it detects that it is stuck, saving you time and energy.

Cross-Cut Shredding

When you are looking for shredders, you will notice that there are three different shredding styles for you to choose from. They are based on the level of protection that you require since the better and smaller they are cut, the less of the chance of someone piecing the information back together. This AmazonBasics shredder cuts using the cross-cut method.

This is the technique that cuts paper into smaller pieces, usually measuring 7/32 by 1 27/32 inches. Having the pieces this small allows you to get rid of confidential information safely and efficiently.
